Gathering

18As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."   ~Matthew 4:18-19 (NIV)

Just as a watermelon farmer first must gather watermelon seeds that he did not make in order to plant them and nurture them to grow into watermelon producing plants, our first step of faith is to gather the forgiveness and new life Jesus gives us through his work on the cross.  We do this by acknowledging our sins and failures, by asking him to forgive us, and by trusting Jesus’ Spirit to lead our lives from this point on.  Now the seed of new life in Jesus has been gathered and planted in you to grow!

Each week Lakeside Fellowship UMC gathers together to celebrate the new life God is growing in each of us and to encourage each other on our spiritual journey of following Jesus.  We gather together to gather the love and grace of God in worship, friendship, small groups, and service.

We invite you to come and gather the blessings of God with us!

1.       Gather new life in Jesus by asking him to forgive you of your sin and trusting His Holy Spirit to lead your life.
Contact Pastor Cameron or a member of the Prayer team.

2.      Join a Gathering group, which is a small group that meets monthly to develop friendships.
Contact our Gathering Group development leader.

3.       Gather with us weekly for worship. Make an effort to be in our Sunday morning 10:30 A.M. worship
service for 4 weeks in a row. Consistency helps you to become familiar with faces and make friends
more easily. If you only attend once or twice a month, it is more difficult to get acquainted and to feel at home.

Lakeside Fellowship is committed to you and your family. We are not a perfect people. We are just like you, dealing with the challenges and struggles of life, but our difference is that we face life together, seeking Christ and His ways as our focus. You don't have to face life alone, come and join our family as together, we discover the plans and purposes God has for our lives.
